To make writing simple, what to do?

Now we are in position to develop a checklist for writing our document, as follows:

Ask yourself the following questions.

Follow your initial plan and outline.

Be aware that writing occurs in bursts

Write a first draft in which you express your main ideas.

Be prepared to change your outline if you discover a new way to present the material.

     Develop a sense of
Style strategies — Try to use passive voice and parallelism
Organization strategies – Use a structure that sets up each section
Reader interest strategies – add comparisons, examples, or brief narratives, as needed.
Note: if worrying about these issues inhibits your flow of ideas, then ignore these issues in the first draft and work at them in a later draft.
If you are stuck, brainstorm or construct trees.

Write second and further drafts, revising the first
1.      Revise sentences so they are clear to readers.
2.      Revise paragraphs so they are clear
3.      Reorganize sentences if you discover you need to
4.      Rework for deductive order – definitions and overviews first, details second.
